PHŒNIX CONTACT offers innovative products and solutions in the sectors of connection technology, electronics and automation. This family business, headquartered in Germany, is present in more than 100 countries. As a French subsidiary, PHŒNIX CONTACT exclusively distributes PHŒNIX CONTACT brand products to French customers.
The technical sales teams advise customers on their needs using a panel of more than 60,000 references. They write technical-commercial offers, the outcome of which they follow from start to finish. They therefore need a costing tool allowing them to access price data, stocks and supply times in real time.
The challenge: providing an encryption tool with real-time access
The question of equipment availability is essential for PHŒNIX CONTACT customers and therefore also for its sales team!
The company previously used an encryption solution operating on a decentralized database principle on salespeople's PCs, which did not allow access to stock data in real time . When implementing a new ERP, PHŒNIX CONTACT chose to equip itself with a new encryption tool correcting this major problem.
The solution: QDV7
PHŒNIX CONTACT selected the QDV7 software because it met both the business needs of the sales team and the connectivity challenges of the team in charge of the information system.
The latter chose to operate on a virtualized architecture (RDS) and was thus able to interface QDV with numerous other bricks of the information system :
Connection to PROMOPLUS, database centralizing all offers
Connection to SAP through a DLL allowing you to retrieve pricing information, stocks and replenishment times, and to report offer references in the ERP
Connection to the CRM allowing you to easily find the offers made to each customer
Connection to the BI solution to be able to quickly find any offer based on the proposed references (and thus allow a new offer to be quickly recreated on a similar basis rather than starting from scratch).
The results: complete commercial offers in just a few clicks, based on real-time stock data
The PHŒNIX CONTACT sales teams have a view at any time of the company's France and World stocks as well as replenishment times, which allows them to best advise their customers.
Since the implementation of QDV in 2016, more than 140,000 commercial offers have been issued without ever encountering an error on the data chain!
, technical sales representatives can issue a complete commercial offer with the quote, product photos and links to the product technical sheets on the company's website, while having the possibility of modifying the final document.
Finally, QDV allows the management of the different pricing methods offered by the company (net price management, commercial offers or periodic discounts) while allowing the management of exemptions via a validation workflow (such as an exceptional excess of a discount maximum, approved by the hierarchical superior).
